While Bush is playing Indian with red stripes on his cheeks, toying around with tank units and ground troops in Iraq & Afghanistan, Al Gore seems to be on a better mission;

(which also happens to be a keyphrase in a prestigious SEO Contest).

The war in Iraq seems to come at a high price, i quote:

Let’s write something about real global warming to actually contribute something to that cause, instead of just trying to win that car

Off course i googled away and found some wiki pages on global warming, i also recall having downloaded that movie from president wannabe (and should-be) Al Gore, which i never bothered to see.

And then there are the sceptics, that urge to remember that every ten years there’s something we should be afraid off, just to boost the economy. 

I just want to cite the wikipedia here (what is global warming):

Global warming is the observed increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation into the future.

The controversy among scientists is if this Global Warming is human caused.

This morning Google reported over 12000 results on the keyphrase globalwarming awareness2007 !!

The great theme of this years SEO World Championship is “globalwarming awareness2007″.

My hart goes out to the company that organises this years “battle for the best ”, the theme seems such a good cause that hopefully even more seo professionals will join this years competition.

The company responsible is Eastpoint AB.

Today, 15 january 2007, is the Kick-Off of the SEO World Championship !

I decided to enter after my eye caught an advertisement while i was checking the status of my seo site: http://seo-expert.terrababy.nl/

I was typing the keywords “seo expert” to assure my site was still on the 2nd position when i stumbled upon an adwords advertisement called: Seo World Championship.

On reviewing the site i quickly decided to participate as the starting day was today. I instantly rembered going through the source code of the winners of the previous contest and wanting to participate.

I previously read about seo contests but always disliked the vibe that i got of the sites that organised them. Also, i always had the feeling that these contests were mainly held to increase traffic to the ones organising them (linkbait).

This is my chance to see for myself. At 19:00 GMT+1 the keyphrase

globalwarming awareness2007

was introduced.

A neat new feature of this contest is that if you want to participate you have to register a new domain name, so no one can benefit from domain age.

I started refreshing http://www.seoworldchampionship.com/ at 18:55 or so, and immediately tried to register some important domains, which were, of course, refused.

I ended up with this domain which i don’t particularly like as 2007 is separated from awareness, but i’ll try anyway to go ahead with this one.

My compliments to the organisation of this contest, the keyphrase

is great and, because of the non-profit character of it, feels less spammy than for example “v7ndotcom elursrebmem”, a well-known keyphrase from a previous contest.�
