Why Al Gore stimulates Globalwarming Awareness2007 in An Inconvenient Truth

17 01 2007

While Bush is playing Indian with red stripes on his cheeks, toying around with tank units and ground troops in Iraq & Afghanistan, Al Gore seems to be on a better mission;

Globalwarming Awareness2007

(which also happens to be a keyphrase in a prestigious SEO Contest).

The war in Iraq seems to come at a high price, i quote:

The United States has appropriated well over $300 billion (PDF) to the war in Iraq, according to the Congressional Research Service (CRS). Some economists predict the entire war, based on projections U.S. forces will remain in Iraq until after 2010, may cost over $1 trillion. The price tag has drawn criticism not only because prewar projections by the White House were closer to $50 billion, but because of the manner in which the bill was budgeted: through supplemental requests, often with little time for congressional oversight or full disclosure of how the money is allocated. “It’s a question of budgetary integrity and the degree to which you are doing this outside the normal budgetary process in a way that lacks sufficient oversight,” says CFR Chair in International Economics Douglas Holtz-Eakin, former director of the Congressional Budget Office. The next supplemental request by the Pentagon, expected next February, will be the largest yet at $160 billion.

However, Al Gore’s costs by Globalwarming, may well exceed those figures, i quote;

Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb. If the vast majority of the world’s scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have ever experienced.

About Global Warming in 2007

17 01 2007

Let’s write something about real global warming to actually contribute something to that cause, instead of just trying to win that car :-)

Off course i googled away and found some wiki pages on global warming, i also recall having downloaded that movie from president wannabe (and should-be) Al Gore, which i never bothered to see.

And then there are the sceptics, that urge to remember that every ten years there’s something we should be afraid off, just to boost the economy.

I just want to cite the wikipedia here (what is global warming):

Global warming is the observed increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation into the future.

The controversy among scientists is if this Global Warming is human caused.
